To UA Parents & Families: The University of Akron Greek community realizes that you have a vested interest in your student’s college experience. We fully believe that our fraternities and sororities offer a variety of academic, leadership, and character building opportunities. These important life skills emphasize community involvement, civic responsibility, and scholastic success. Our Greek student programs and policies have been recognized nationally, and we take pride in our students’ strong self-governance of the UA Greek community, with guidance from professional staff. Each of our organizations is well organized with a core group of trained volunteer alumni who assist student leaders with chapter operations and programs. Each chapter also upholds standards of excellence with regard to academic performance, community service, member responsibility, and policy enforcement. Since 1873, Greek Life has been a thriving campus life tradition at The University of Akron. The opportunities, friendships, and life-long commitments are unique within Greek Life. Fraternities and sororities offer comprehensive leadership, academic, service, and athletic involvement on campus and in the surrounding community. Member academic performance, leadership involvement, and service to the community are documented and higher than that of the general campus. We welcome and invite questions for our Greek Life staff and student
leaders at (330) 972-7909. Additionally, this website may also serve as
a valuable informational resource. Thank you for considering and investigating
the tradition of fraternities and sororities at The University of Akron
with your student. |
